"Cant sleep?" (for Tyler)
the mournful, the restless — ACCEPTING — @forsakentyler
That obvious? Well, when you park your ass outside the safehouse, and in the middle of the night no less, it isn’t too hard to tell you’re unable to sleep.
❝Yea. Never been one for sleep, anyhow. Too much goin’ on in my mind to rest any. Sorry if I woke ya up by coming out here. I’ll try to be quieter next time.❞
Prim set her gun on her lap, cracking her knuckles out of nervous habit. The darkness under her tired eyes, the slight slur in her words, slumping against the wall – all signs of her exhaustion. Sleep was never one to come to her, more playing a game of cat and mouse which resulted in getting less than 2 hours of sleep every night if she was lucky.
The past few nights have been the worst of it; her sitting up all night, fixing her guns, watching the door, wandering around the safehouse quietly, checking on her friends, back to the door and her weapons -- an unkind cycle of anxious movements, uneven pacing and frantic movement plans. She’s been up and moving again within 15 minutes of everyone going to sleep, maps spread on the floor with markers and stray bullets. Guns, disassembled and reassembled, scattered on countertops, pieces lying here and there. Molotovs being made, pipe bombs being perfected, jar of bile lined up tightly in one corner of the available tables. Medkits, pills, adrenaline – all in disarray as the arsonist attempts to make sure everything is well packed and ready for the group’s next day of travel. Everything she does when she can’t sleep and needs to stay busy.
4 days of this. 4 fucking days of being awake at all hours. Why can’t I just sleep?
❝What’s got you active, Ty? Just as restless as me or somethin’ else?❞
