Character Name: Garret Oliver Sikes
Age in Verse: Thirty Eight
Residence or Hotel Room # : ( no idea. )
Occupation: Hotel Security & Driver
Wartime Occupation: Enlisted Tank Operator
When the war broke out, there was only one option for Garret, he would enlist in order to protect his family. It wasn’t a choice in his mind, even though it meant leaving his wife and young child behind. Seeing as he wasn’t highly educated, an officer rank was out of his grasp. He wasn’t the kind to wear gold bars anyways, Garret is a blue collar man, and being down in the dirt with the rest of the soldiers was fitting for him.
After boot camp he was placed with his new crew, rolling in heavy armor while feeling like a sitting duck. Letters from home came all the time, until they started coming few and far between. Eventually, there were no more letters, and Garret realized that his life had fallen apart. He left to be a hero, and it cost him everything that ever mattered. So the men he served with became family, but even those he lost one by one. Until he was all there was left.
Now, left scarred from the time served, he’s trying to escape the past and find some part of heaven in this purgatory he’s been damned to live in. Making a new life for himself far away from his former one, Garret keeps to himself for the most part. He’s a gruff man, most might assume he’s not as kind as he is, but some know that his outside doesn’t quite match his inside. Not that he really lets anyone too close, for fear that his broken heart will be wounded again.
