((Hi! I'm Sarah, and I'm looking to join the Fortnite Tumblrverse RP scene with my Tron OC Ark here!
Here's a little bit about her, I've tried to write it so that people that don't know Tron can get the gist of it! (And, if you do know Tron, I'd be happy to get into more canon details!)
Ark comes from the Tron universe, as such, she's a computer program from a system called the Grid.
She's a System Monitor, which is a security program along the lines of an antivirus program.
The Grid was turned on in 1983 and Ark was programmed in the late 80s - but before 1989. (I usually run with '86 or '87 as her activation year, but it's fairly flexible to a degree.)
Ark is inspired by the player character in the Tron: Evolution DS game and her backstory takes a lot of cues from Tron and Beck in the Tron: Uprising show.
She's worked with Tron himself on multiple occasions and in different capacities.
As a System Monitor, she follows her coding to protect the Grid and everyone on it. She also takes her dedication to the humans that use computers, the Users, seriously.
The Grid is a world full of darkness, first in the atmosphere, as it is a world permanently resembling night, and later when a dictator took over and imposed his strict views upon the world.
Ark did what she could to fight against the dictator's forces and quickly teamed up with Tron to fight together.
Unfortunately, their teamup was short-lived, as she was captured and brainwashed - also known as rectification.
(As an aside, some of Ark's backstory was built to work within canon limitations, as she's not in the Tron: Uprising show, so I scooted her off during then. But, I also wanted her to live through all the canon eras up through the Tron: Legacy movie, so she's survived a lot.)
Brainwashed Ark was used to try and capture Tron, but he managed to turn the tables and rescue her. It took some doing to free and repair her, but he found somebody up to the task.
After being freed from the brainwashing, Ark continued fighting against the dictator with Tron.
Alas, it couldn't last and Tron eventually got captured and brainwashed himself. (The Tron: Uprising show got cancelled, so we never saw how it happened, we just know that he's brainwashed in Tron: Legacy.)
Ark continued the fight as best she could and tried to track down Tron. But, as he was highly dangerous and the dictator kept him on a tight leash, there wasn't much she could do to help him.
During the events of Tron: Legacy, she does what she can, but as it involves a new User arriving in the world and all the chaos that brings, along with being a more personal story following him, Ark doesn't know a lot about what happened, just that the dictator is permanently gone now.
And, that takes us up to Fortnite and when Agent Jones enters the Grid in Chapter 2: Season 5.
I'm assuming that he arrives an unknown time after the events of Tron: Legacy, as that makes it easier to wrangle the timeline.
Time on the Grid runs much faster, with around 50 years (called cycles) on the Grid to one human year outside of it. If Agent Jones arrives in 2021 in the human world outside of the Grid, this puts Ark somewhere around 1,700+ cycles/years old, give or take a bit depending on when she was activated. However, she looks to be somewhere in her 30s.
Agent Jones gathers the ten Grid Warriors, and Ark decides to join in as well.
If she is offered something in exchange for going to the Island, she asks for Tron and Beck to be found and repaired, if needed.
Ark has several motivations for going to the Island, namely that it's her job to help the Users and a User directly asked for her assistance. Also, with the dictator gone, she's had trouble adjusting to a more peaceful life on the Grid.
Upon arriving on the Island, it's full of wonder for Ark. The Grid had no sunshine and no plants, something the Island has plenty of. Upon seeing the world outside of the computer, she decides to stay and experience everything it's got. Ark gets off of the computer and touches grass.
(I imagine that all of the brought Hunters had some kind of introductory crash course to the Island, the Tron programs probably had a bit more extensive one, as things are so much different from the Grid.)
From there, Ark's time on the Fortnite Island closely follows what the player's Looper does. She does everything she can to help and gladly fights the bad guys.
If she had the choice to leave, she'd nearly always decline, as things are so much better for her outside of the Grid.
Even so, she still hasn't completely adjusted and will still sometimes refer to things as she would on the Grid and she's always finding new things to discover.
Because she was a computer program before arriving, she keeps some of those aspects, along with adding in normal humanoid ones as well.
She keeps her Identity Disc and its dock on her back and it also allows her to change the circuits and design of her outfit from the Grid. However, she can remove her Grid outfit and wear other clothes instead, but her disc and dock will still always be present.
Ark also kept her staff baton, a small rectangular device that stays on her hip. When she grabs it and activates it, it turns into a staff that's taller than she is. She may also have a baton that turns into a light cycle, as well.
She also has an affinity for computers and robots, depending on the situation.
And, that's Ark! I'd be glad to answer any questions or anything anybody has! Thank you so much!
I've also got my Rules & Info post here and a general About Ark post here.))
