Dear Journal,

I met up with Naoto the other day. This was our first meeting since the Grand Prix incident. I haven’t told her yet, but I managed to convince my parents to let me stay in Inaba so I can stay with my friends and finish school here. Besides, we still haven’t solved the case and I can’t leave something like that unfinished.

There’s something a little off about Naoto. It’s like something happened while I was gone. I’ll have to ask her about it when I see her next.

Rose, though she hasn’t known her for long, fears that she will give the wrong impression of herself to Naoto. She fears that her sarcastic and generally rude nature is going to drive away another possible ally and friend, and for some reason, Rose thinks that having Naoto around is going to be a good thing. We shall have to wait and see.
