(NIV) Genesis 22.1 - Some time later God tested Abraham.  He said to him, "Abraham!"

"Here I am," he replied.

God's reason for testing Abraham could foreshadow what Abraham will be going through soon.  Abraham has consistently been there when God has sought after him.  Now that he seemingly has everything that he will need in his life, it would be interesting to see what has become of his faith.  To become the aforementioned blessing, it would seem fitting for Abraham to continue on with his close relationship with God.

Enough faith to get by

(NIV) Genesis 19.21 He said to him, "very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the the town you speak of.

Lot's granted request will allow him to rest easy in the fact that he will make it through this trial.  This is rather hopeful too, just because it shows that needs are met, even if they are those that question the Lord's will.  Lot's favor has obviously influenced this, but his faith lack of could influence his actions within this new town.  He has been blessed with another chance, but he is already seemingly leading himself down a similar path to those that are still in Sodom.
