God's reason for testing Abraham could foreshadow what Abraham will be going through soon. Abraham has consistently been there when God has sought after him. Now that he seemingly has everything that he will need in his life, it would be interesting to see what has become of his faith. To become the aforementioned blessing, it would seem fitting for Abraham to continue on with his close relationship with God.
