today, 19th of june, the Fosen activists have to go through a third trial, this time in the supreme court after the state appealed their acquittal for a second time. The civil disobedience they did was in protest of the fact that the state let a human rights violation continue against the sámi people in Fosen for years AFTER the sámi families went through a long legal battle and ended up winning in the supreme court. The supreme court ruled it illegal and the state continued. They were protesting an ILLEGAL power plant. The activists won the case against them in the district court, and the state appealed. They won again in the appeals court, and the state appealed again (the day before sámi álbmotbeaivi, which is the sámi people’s day and a huge celebration day so that’s just disrespectful) This is a fucking jokeeeeeee. Of course we have to do things like this of course we have to be “difficult” when going through the legal system doesn’t work and doesn’t protect us. Even when we win they make sure we lose
