My friend’s cat has severe anxiety so she hides away a lot. My friend recently went through a breakup which left her homeless, so we’ve been fostering the cat for the time being. (She’s okay don’t worry).
The cat has found every nook in my house and will hide for hours, making it difficult to even get her to eat. Little by little, she’s settled down a lot. She’s staying out for longer, sleeping in more (warmer) open spaces. It’s been a beautiful experience to see this girl I’ve known for years allow herself to be happy. She trusts us so much that we’ll keep her safe.
She’s physically been letting us stay around her for longer, she loves cuddles and hanging. It’s so cute. I knew that one day she’d let herself be the lap cat she is deep inside.
Today it finally happened.
It’s please send help, I want to go to sleep, but she’s so warm and soft and I love her.
