1 year ago today, July 11, 2019, we brought home 3 amazing kiddos that would change our lives forever. We had NO idea what we were doing, had only changed maybe two diapers in our whole lives (at the time all 3 kids were in diapers), and we wondered, many times that day, if we had made the right choice. But then we introduced them to our animals, we showed them their new rooms and new toys, we made them snacks and fed them dinner, and we took a walk to the park. And it became alright, and it started to feel okay. And with the help of our family and friends, we began to realize we could do this and we could give these kiddos a safe and loving home. And even though it was still hard and we lost a lot of sleep those first few months, we would do it all again and we would choose them every day for the rest of our lives. One year (and many haircuts) later, we’re feeling thankful for the lessons they’ve taught us, the joy they’ve brought, and the way they have reshaped just about every part of our world. And we want to say thank you to you as well. The kindness and love you’ve shown these kiddos this past year, without ever even seeing their faces, has been overwhelming, and reinforces how many good-hearted people there are out there. They are so loved, and they deserve the world, as does every kid that comes into the system. We don’t know what the future holds, but we’re spending today feeling grateful for this past year and for our little family.
