ok idk if this is unpopular or not but fuck the weirdly common plotline of “character sees their abusive parent for the first time in decades, is expected to make good with them, often gets belittled by other main characters about it for no reason, and ends up fucking sympathising with/actually forgiving them (before they do something awful)??” like who the fuck is writing this shit and for why? it’s so exhausting to watch??
