Merbre is a grey horse who is a Loyalty Enforcer for the lamb, but everyone calls him the Head Councilman. He is the one people often go to when the lamb isn’t around; he loves to guide others and help people strengthen their faith for the lamb!
Thorbre is a purple hedgehog who is the cult’s main jerk. He loves to mess with people and constantly challenges the lamb. Few people are close to him, but those who are see a completely different guy than the rest of the cult does.
You can see them together a lot, mostly bickering between each other when Merbre isn’t busy.
I’d say you’re known for being really cool and supportive of others and having a very interesting and different story with your version of cotl! And for having such a Shapes style /positive 💛
In my verse, I have it set up so that every time Vitas consumes the heart of a god, his new strength lets him achieve more control in how he presents himself. This is between Leshy and Heket, after Heket just being a little more muscular. Chews on him a lot.
I didn’t draw him in a fleece, I saw cute clothes online he’d rather wear and sketched him in those instead! The long sketch is him wearing @forbiddenlovecotl’s Shamrock Shake’s dress
Anyway I kiss him and while he accepts his birth body, he’d rather look bigger and stronger (and be without boobs) so he could live how he pleases a little easier. He can’t do it in every AU but he finds peace with his body or finds ways to present himself more comfortably.
Feel free to talk about whatever you want to but haven't gotten to do
Alright chat. There’s gonna be a lot of fucked up stuff on this text wall. I’m not adding a trigger list. Don’t read this shit if you can’t handle sensitive topics, don’t read this if you don’t like canon divergence. Please take care of yourselves, okay? ❤️🩹
Now, onto the text!
The Cult:
Vitas is captured, and executed. He doesn’t feel sorry for sheepkind, he doesn’t feel sorry for his friends who died alongside him, he feels sorry for himself. Accepting Narinder’s deal wasn’t about avenging loved ones, or his race, it was about getting revenge for what they personally did to him.
Vitas was ruthless running his cult at first, but he doesn’t call it that. No, Vitas lives in a “settlement” with “settlers”, and those who rise up in rank are “counsel members.” Vitas had no idea what a cult was, and still doesn’t, but he still tries to run one off of the guidance he was given by both Narinder and Ratau. He was cruel to his followers at first, working them half to death, only feeding them once every few days, always out crusades. Those who didn’t work were punished severely, and those who tried to run were killed. Those who couldn’t work anymore went missing overnight, and your only reward for your labor was to live another day.
It all changed, though, when several followers snapped, and started killing other followers during a sermon. Seeing his favorites get torn apart, not having the doctrine to resurrect them, and having to slaughter around half of his own people to get it to stop was a tiny bit rough on him. He didn’t stop overworking them and beating them for their sakes, though. He did it because losing people was difficult and he didn’t want feel the pain of losing favorites again.
Since then, though, Vitas hasn’t been able to balance discipline well. He’s gone from a terror who’ll run you into the ground and then kill you for it, to a total softie who has lost total control of his cult. Thanks to events between himself and Narinder, he’s also lost sight of being a cult leader. His cult is severely underdeveloped, he cannot read well enough to find and bring home any blueprints that would help them, he only feeds them once a day, they rarely work at all now… They often do things behind his back, too, and he lets it pass. He is an absolute dogshit cult leader, and his followers have very little respect for him.
No one believes they’re in a cult though, and few people have the vaguest hunch something is off. Everyone underestimates Vitas too much to even consider such a thing to be possible.
Narilamb:
This section deals with sensitive topics, including sexual assault. Please read with caution.
Narinder and Vitas got along poorly at first, even though it was love at first sight with Narinder. He loved the hatefilled look Vitas had on his face, the resentment radiating off of him so heavily he could almost see it, how small yet full of rage the sheep was. It was an offer he would’ve given anyone, but he had different plans this time around for Vitas if he succeeded.
It was a pain, falling the crowns with such an incompetent god. One who started to lose his mind while in chains for over a thousand years. Failure after failed caused him to lise hope, and so it felt like he took nothing seriously.
The days where he held Vitas captive for his own entertainment, the romantic and sexual harassment he put the sheep through, constant flirting and explosive jealously drove Vitas nuts. Still, he had to at least appreciate that his god was so terrible it kept him motivated to fight his best and die as little as possible so he didn’t have to see him.
Vitas didn’t take much of it to heart, though he wasn’t used to anyone but Tyar being in love with him, he didn’t take the threat of a god being obsessed with him seriously until the day he was tricked into marrying him.
It escalated from there, and with the difficulty of anchordeep, Vitas had to endure visits with Narinder constantly. Some of which escalated in ways Vitas is still terrified to speak about, especially with the new threat from Oxylus that if he tells anyone, he “won’t hold back anymore” with him.
Even with such a difficult past, Vitas still can’t help but love him. The psychical harm and verbal abuse Oxylus also puts him through is familiar to Vitas, and he genuinely believes that no one will ever love him like Oxylus does. He feels stuck, and though he’s terrified of Oxylus and hates him, he crawls back to him each time desperate for validation and love he feel he can’t get anywhere else.
The Seal:
So… the deal with the seal. The seal is where the main events of the game take place in. It’s a faux world, made by other gods to stop the war and trap the bishops inside of it. This world was meant to slowly die out, and kill everything inside of it, but thanks to the powers of the bishops they managed to help the world survive.
There is another world outside of the one they live in, and after Narinder is slain, the seal that kept them trapped in their fake world is broken, and soon the two worlds start to weave into each other. Finding plants that died off long ago, being attacked by strange creatures screaming about beliefs no one’s heard of, finding themselves in unfamiliar places, places that weren’t there before. No one can willfully travel in and out of the seal, but they can slip through small tears.
The outside world is where the Valley, the Bank, the Feilds, and Gilded Peaks are. Gods and sheep are plentiful there. Darkwood, Anchordeep, Anura, and Silk Cradle are inside of the seal.
That’s all I’ll do for now. Thanks for letting me ramble! :D I oughta do it more often..
Hello chat! Today I have Vitas's Dad drawn out. I'll put some stuff under the cut, I guess.
Excuse the left having some duller colors. It was an ipad doodle I'm not completing. Lot's of lore about him underneath!!
1) Yes, that is the clothing Vitas wore as a child on his wagon. He kept it after Vitas was old enough to go without and threw it away. (He promised Camila he wouldn't tell, so she could raise a kid without having to endanger another person. He still stuck around, just as mom's friend.)
2) He likes to travel between the different realms, so he can grab and sell different resources to individuals without them having to leave their homes and risk their lives. (For example, he might travel to Silk Cradle or Anchordeep to sell menticide mushrooms.)
3) He hasn't seen Vitas since the day of Vitas's wedding, and because of that he's assumed Vitas to be dead. He started traveling between different realms to find and bury his son, but he ends up reuniting with Vitas instead! :D
4) He's a Tibetan Mastiff and he's a BIG BOY. He stands tall at a WHOPPING! 7! FEET! AND! 6! INCHES! TALL!!
5) He's single. He has other kids, and knows they exist! He likes to try and visit them when he's passing near when he knows he's passing by their homes. He wasn't ever in love with Camila, but she's the closest he's ever come to having a girlfriend. He's heavily disinterested in relationships, but tries his best to get along with his kids' mothers.
6) He is the one who found and buried Camila. He kept her shirt, and wears it as a hair accessory from time to time when he's missing her. He also held onto and tried his best to clean up Tyar's robes after he was able to also find and bury him. The blood stains remain red, but he has no idea why. He's cleaned it time and time again, but the stains never leave. It's been years and if he thinks about it too long he starts feeling a weird dread over it.
Anon… I’ve been waiting so long for someone to ask this… You don’t know how happy you’ve just made me!
So, Vitas isn’t actually all too thrilled about killing dissenters. Those are his Bebes, after all. (He specifically calls Followers Bebes, and his Disciples the Counsel.) Imprisonment also isn’t a workable solution for him, because he hates to see his Bebes locked up. It absolutely breaks his heart.
Vitas prefers to take them into the temple, alone, and gives them a magnificent mixed meal. His faith is low, but also very new, so he hasn’t dealt with dissenters often enough to consider killing them. He prefers to ‘talk it out with them over a meal’, which pretty much means: absolutely grovel to his follower until they eat enough of the triple m to stop dissenting.
The triple M actually stops the dissenters by making them forget why they’re even doing it in the first place, and his canonically has already had consequences for the lamb in his AU.
I, unfortunately, never got to make the comic where a dissenter realized what the mmm does and tried to kill Vitas, but I plan to one day, maybe I’ll write it instead? I’ve been on a writing kick. But a few followers have seen through his tricks, and Vitas has had his hand forced. He doesn’t like to talk about it much, and will judge another lamb (as if he has any room to!?) if they deal with dissenters through murder or imprisonment.
This way of dealing with dissenters has has another consequence of Vitas’s followers thinking he’s too soft, and just adds to the fact that most don’t even actually respect him all too much. (A fact he’s very aware of, but pretends he’s no clue.)
