Dragonfly at the New York city Bronx Botanical Garden A week ago my wife and I went to the NYBG in the Bronx where they were several indoor and outdoor exhibits being shown by artist Yayoi Kusama. Kusama's exhibits were pretty incredible, especially the infinity room. The gardens have lots of great photo opportunities of plants and small wildlife. Did you know dragonflies were around more than 300 million years ago And although current dragonfly wingspans are only two or 3 inches long, ancient fossils have found dragonflies wings to be 2 to 3 feet. Currently there are more than 5000 species of dragonflies and best of all they eat mosquitoes. Ths is a partial image of a dragonfly perched on the edge of a leaf. I decided to focus on the dragonfly’s shadow on the leaf as the lines & textures from both are really cool. www.mfaimages.com Marc #dragonfly #dragonflies #Anisoptera #insect #insects #shadowphotography #marcalter #marcfalter #Photographer #Photography #Nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #liphotogallery #fotofoto_gallery #art #abstractart #abstractphotography #microphotography #macrophotography #nikon #nikon850 #longisland #li #ny (at New York Botanical Garden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSEwu1jH6Uq/?utm_medium=tumblr
