Chadian soldiers patrol in the Nigerian border town after taking control of the city. Around 2,000 Chadian troops backed by armoured vehicles poured across the border into Gamboru after the African Union last week backed a regional force to take on the Boko Haram extremists.

Selon des sources sécuritaires concordantes, un jeune garçon actuellement en exploitation par les forces de sécurité a été interpellé en fin d’après-midi, hier, lundi 27 juillet 2015, en possession d’un sac contenant une bombe.

Deux attentats-suicides près du marché de Fotokol au nord du Cameroun, ont fait au moins une douzaine de morts ce lundi matin Deux femmes kamikazes se sont fait exploser dimanche soir à quelques secondes d’intervalles à proximité d’un camp de l’armée camerounaise, a affirmé lundi à l’AFP une source proche des services de sécurité camerounais.

Nigerian residents return to 'ghost town' seized from Boko Haram

A "ghost town" of burnt-out homes and looted properties greeted residents returning to Gamboru in northeast Nigeria for the first time since Chadian forces retook it from Boko Haram. Boko Haram seized Gamboru, in the violence-wracked Borno state, in August last year, forcing thousands to flee across the frontier to the town of Fotokol, on the other bank of the river in northern Cameroon. Chadian forces, who have joined the regional fight to crush the Islamist insurgency, retook Gamboru earlier this month, after intense fighting that left hundreds of insurgents dead.
