P’ti Bazar

I love in the bay and I'm looking to move out with my boyfriend asap. Living is just so expensive, I've always wondered how ya'll afford it? Is Santa Cruz cheaper?
It's cheaper than parts of the bay, but still pretty expensive. since there's such a large population of students here, a lot of the housing is student-friendly - read, incredibly shitty but cheap. there ARE a lot of very expensive houses around here, most in the 800K-a few million range, but there are also a lot of shitty small apartments. we lucked the hell out with the apartment we got, because it's a spacious and well-maintained two-bedroom, for santa cruz, but we pay a little under $2,000 a month for it. In the shared house we lived in before, Riley and I had a bedroom and bathroom to ourselves and that was $1,000 per month. so like....cheaper than SF, but still pretty ridiculous. It's definitely possible though!
