Major Project Update
It’s been 6 weeks of the project so far and all I can show for it is lots of research, photographs and some location drawings. I’m sure I will be moving faster with my work now for the next 6 weeks!
Final Major Project
For my major project of the Art Foundation course my plan is to create work inspired by a basis of a story I thought of.
Basically the story is a Dystopian Theme set in 2030 (the not so distant future) and we are running out of resources so the Government want to bring back coal mining to the Valleys. This would result in many houses being demolished and dug up to get to the mines which they are built upon.
As this is going on a rebellion will form where people will protest against the new mining action (kind of like the minors strike but in reverse I suppose). To coincide the story I will create protest/propaganda work such as: posters, t-shirts, badges and perhaps graffiti.
I will be taking photographs of old mining villages, drawing on location and as my work develops I will be using different techniques like printing, painting etc.
Let’s see how this goes!
The Weary Soldier - One day book project poem
poem i put together for our 1 day book project - using cut out sentences from a few books. It reads:
The Weary Soldier:
You’ve got cold feet, she says. You’re backing down, You should not be sad. I’m heartless, I thought. Tears are running down her face.
A smoke filled room, a devil’s moon and you - I stole a kiss, you promised me you would be true- I slid my hand beneath your dress. You bit my ear, we made a mess. Now it’s dawn - and you’re gone - And I am blue.
Postcards from Europe Victory comes and goes. Now there’s fresh air, I don’t have a gun. Behind them there’s a shout, a rage of horror. I had to decamp in a hurry.
The fire pit He was an arsonist and a murderer, Now she’s afraid of him, You’ve changed so much she says. Don’t let it upset you. Don’t take it to heart. Forget it. He might die.
Lest we forget. Remember me. To you from failing hands we throw.
a poem for our one day book project i will post what it reads☺️
