Hogwarts Founder Headcanons #001
The portraits of the four founders were made when the school was started. There was a charm placed on the paintings so the founder portraits would age with them as long as they were all together.
The ages that the students see today are how old they were when Salazar left the school.
Godric and Salazar’s portraits were moved the furthest from one another after that time.
The only day where they are seen together in one portrait (when they chose to move) is not on the Founding Day of the School, but the day that they all met as friends.
