Hey! I fell in love with your Helga Hufflepuff and I absolutely love your posts. I was wondering what your thoughts on how each founder reacted to Salazar Slytherin leaving Hogwarts and going on his own path and such.

In a modern AU of the founders, what's each founder's aesthetic? What pop culture icons/music/memes would you place with them? If they were all to attend one modern concert together, who would you either expect for them to all like or whose music choice would be the one that ended up getting picked?
((OOC: HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE yessssss I’ve mostly thought about Helga but I’ll give them all a shot. Helga is the protEST QUEEN. She brings water and snacks(mom friend tm), and crafts picket signs. HUFFLEPUNK!! She wears flower crowns and black lipstick, probably rocks overalls and dresses. Music-wise, (she’s probably just me) a mix of DISNEY and METAL, Hozier (she and Rowena go to concerts together).
Godric I mean honestly is just Thor. Over confident aussie, will wear ANYTHING for attention or laughs. LOVES SUPERHERO MOVIES AND LESBIANS (I mean the latter is already my founders era canon BUT STILL) THE ULTIMATE WING MAN. Music is probably pop and rock, Led Zepplin, Freddy Mercury (his bi-con), Britney Spears, BEYONCE he likes to GET DOOOOOWN and SING LOUD.
Rowena LIVES for aesthetic, she’s one of those makeup youtubers all about fashion and brand names, she’s travels a lot, and you’d think she’s shallow but in her down time she WEARS HOODIES, DRINKS SO MUCH COFFEE, and watches SO MUCH NETFLIX and has weird rants and is the biggest weeb she loves naruto and memes (y am i describing my little sister lol) music wise she’s a kpop snitch, and loves “lofi hip hop radio” on youtube, AND JANELLE MONAE AND HOZIER.
Salazar oooooooh boy, he’s also OBSESSED with his looks, brand names, SHOE HOARDER, he trolls everywhere but MOSTLY FACEBOOK, and posts cryptic messages about his existential dread. DRRYYYYYY HUMOR, every other word is “WELL ACTUALLY” he mansplains everything, but he’s in college and getting GOOD GRADES and is very involved!!! Music is sooooo niche, hipster stuff, stuff like Depeche Mode, New Order, My Chemical Romance, (he has a soft spot for Taylor Swift but he isn’t secure enough in his masculinity to admit it) ))

Do you think the founders would have totally agreed with the way that we currently associate the houses, or do you feel like they would be a little offended that people would think that they would decide these houses based on a single worded trait? Would they consider their representation through time as accurate or would they be shocked to learn that history did them dirty (or totally wish washed their personal character)?
((OOC: As someone who personally hates how the defining characteristics lump everything together into weird stereotypes, I think, yeah, they’d be a little offended or shocked. I mean Gryffindor gets a lot of coverage, but bravery is so much more than fighting.
Ravenclaw gets called “the smart house” and everyone assumes that they’re all serious book worms, with good grades, and stuff, when really it’s conspiracy theories, and WIT and PUNS, and MESSY and EXISTENTIAL CRISES.
With Slytherin ambition is almost a “bad thing” and Slytherin overall is portrayed as “bad”, when ambition is consistency, and passion, and drive, and arGUABLY LOYALTY and sticking to your goals and dreams.
BUT HELGA WOULD PITCH A FIT (I PITCH A FIT) over how under-represented Hufflepuff is, THOUGH we DO THINK about KINDNESS and FRIENDSHIP RIGHT OFF THE BAT, Hufflepuffs are not weak or forgettable, or any of the things we mistakenly associate with them. They are STRONG, they are DIVERSE, and they are STUBBORN. THEY WILL KILL YOU WITH KINDNESS. THEY WILL REINFORCE CHANGE AND PROTEST, or they will change you without you even noticing LIKE THE RIVER THAT CARVES THE CANYON. They get stuff DONE. But you know, I’ll cover all of these deep traits and things in my fan fic *wHEEZES*))

You want some founders asks, friend? I gotchu. Do you have food associations with the founders? What are their favorite foods/drinks? (I personally associate Helga with Turkey legs, hearty meals, quite savory things like stuffings and gravy and potatoes etc, maybe a sweeter wine or cider, Godric with Blackcurrants and some sort of beer, Rowena with more dry wines, and maybe some more dense and heavy sweet breads like a malt loaf with extra butter on it warmed up, Salazar with mint, etc)

With Helga I think of perpetual stew or hunter’s stew, it was a medieval tradition in inns to just have a pot constantly cooking something. But Helga’s isn’t just a sloppy mishmash, it’s always delicious and good for the soul, and one always feels comforted and invigorated after eating it.
Godric is salted, dried meat and a horn of warm, frothy ale, sun warmed berries that stain his hands and lips, he is also a SUCKER for cakes.
Rowena is coffee expensive spices from the east, jasmine rice, fresh fish from the sea, and she loves munching on biscuits and crackers.
Salazar, I think of cabbage and corned beef, eggs and sausages, broiled tomatoes, hearty bread full of seeds. If he has gruel, there can’t be a lump in it, he’s very picky about textures and certain vegetables.))
