Today in Hogwarts Founders research:
I was looking up plants that grow in the British Isles (for Helga’s flower crown, garden and such) and I found a pretty weed named Ragwort (nice flowers, not so good for eating or touching). I was inspired.. could this be half a reason for the Founders to name Hogwarts ? But then I was curious.. if there was Ragwort and Cow Parsnips, could there maybe be a Hogwort?(the wort part being changed over time like so many names are)
So I looked it up:
There is Hogwort. But it’s a gosh dang American plant. And JK took one look at the name and retained it for the rest of her life. What the heck.
