there it is. the 𝐊𝐍𝐈𝐅𝐄 buried in her chest, matthew had sunk it past her ribs a few days ago. his words twist it sharply, because she isn't sure which hurts more.

the idea that she's doing exactly what she had hoped to 𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐃. she had lingered long enough for matthew to get used to her presence, for him to develop feelings for her that go beyond a regular hook up.

or the fact that he wants - no, 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐒 her to stop. he doesn't want this.

hana swallows the lump in her throat, not able to bring herself to meet his gaze.

hana had only spared matthew a passing glance as he moved into the doorway, only briefly noticed the shirt that he wore that's a little bit more than casual. she's been acutely aware of the date for 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒, now. but, it had seemed like maybe matthew had forgotten what day it was.

until now.
