Star Forger | 6 | Power of a Child, Caliber of a Bandit

This is my attempt at creating a scene from Star Forger if this were an otome game. x3 I do think the unique thing about WWYFFs is that they allow for a lot more expansive plots and in-depth conversations that otomes don't usually focus on, but it would be nice to see the boys in action!

Yusuke is immature and brash, relying on foolhardy luck—this made him the right Spirit Detective for the time. But not much has changed. After the events of his youth, he tried to assimilate to normal life. He lost most everything he knew: purpose, excitement, and even his fiancée.

Kazuma is goofy and noble, his intentions pure. He has strict principles that guide his decisions with fierce and decisive passion. He is responsible, having graduated from college with a decent job. But, still, the one thing he wants is a bit too far from his reach.

Hiei had a rough start in life. He doesn’t value relationships the way most people do, having never had reassurances or a friend. He is ambitious, a seeker of power, and is no stranger to working for his prizes. He can be callous but has a unique honor code and holds himself to a high standard in its application.

Kurama is an enigma, a demon merged with the soul of a human. His time in Living World has changed him, and while he is content to be with his family and friends, he could do with some wonder in his life. He craves challenge and wit, puzzles that make the cogs in his mind turn.

It is a time of peace and prosperity for the world of humans. Although it feels wrong to you to think this way, you wish there were at least a little danger to appease the monotony. You crave adventure beyond the city walls, a purpose beyond a future of domesticity. You want magic and swords, dragons and demons, truths and lies. When the opportunity comes one day, you seize it. You never would have thought your determination, your appetite for excitement would bring you friendship and love so powerful that they govern your destiny. Star Forger | 1 | The First Light

[Reader x Yusuke/Kuzuma/Kurama/Hiei] A WWYFF (Who will you fall for?).

Hey, you! Yes, you with the pretty face. What do you call yourself nowadays anyhow? _____, huh? Well, that’s fine, I guess.

So, Star Forger, itʼs been far too long, hasnʼt it? 

What? You donʼt remember me?  You don’t remember anything at all, do you?  Oh, my.

We’ll fix that eventually.  But I have to tell you something first.  You’re about to embark on a journey to find yourself and your destiny.  It’s going to be full of dangers, but there are people you’ll meet along the way who can help you.

You’ll have choices to make, Star Forger.  These choices help determine whom you can trust and with whom your heart is most compatible.  It’s kind of exciting, actually.  It’s also okay if you’re terrified.  The lives of mortals can be intimidating.

There’s this blockhead named Penguiduck who will be guiding you on your journey — she calls this adventure a WWYFF (Who will you fall for?), not unlike your traditional otome game.  Every chapter of your life will include options she has gathered for you.  I recommend that you keep a record of them as you make these decisions.  At the end of each chapter, you will add up your totals, and this will help you determine which of the love interests whom you can help grow and develop the most — and you’ll share some time together so you can learn about each other.  You know, as humans say, you have to test the car before you buy it.

None of your interactions with these love interests will conflict with one another, unless Penguiduck explicitly notes otherwise, so you can even spend time with all of them, if you so choose.  Just don’t get too carried away.  Mortals generally don’t like it when you romance more than one of them at the same time.

Since time is fluid here, I suppose you can also retrace your footsteps and consider these end-of-chapter interactions as alternate realities.  Really, you do whatever your pretty heart desires! You’re the Star Forger, so I trust you to make the right calls.

On rare occasions, there may be some forks in the road in which you must make a decision that can influence more than just your relationships with your companions.  Be careful, Star Forger.  There is so much for you to live for, and the universe needs you to stay alive and well.

Oh, and I suppose you’ll want to know my name, too, since you’ve conveniently forgotten.  It’s Pnina.  We won’t meet for quite some time, but hopefully you’ll remember then. 

Take care, Star Forger.  And be careful of whom you trust.  A broken heart can be among the most difficult of wounds to heal.

Star Forger: Prologue

“I have a mission for you, Yusuke.”

“I haven’t heard from you in ten years, pacifier breath, and now you want a favor?”

“The balance of the universe depends on it.”

“Doesn’t it always?”

“I mean it literally this time,” Koenma said, sliding him a photo. “I need you to bring this woman to me.”

Yusuke raised an eyebrow. “Why don’t you ask her out yourself? Too old for you, huh?”

“Enough with the jokes. I know you’ve never been good with diplomacy. Take Kurama and Kuwabara with you.”

“I understand Kurama, but Kuwabara? It’s not like he’s that charming either.”

Koenma sighed. “You may need the firepower, as much as I caution you against using it. This woman is a ticking time bomb. She may not be aware, but she’s in very real danger—all the same, the world is in very real danger without her. I need you to bring her to me.”

“So who is she?”

“I don’t think it’s fair for me to tell you before she learns of her own destiny.”

This conversation transpires in a world beyond your comprehension. Little do you know, they’re referring to you. This is the story of how you overcome your destiny.
