The four earliest comics I remember reading as a kid. These were all from 1987, so I would have been three or four, and they made just a massive impression on me. I had very little context for any of them, and don't remember how or why I owned them, but I definitely read them over and over until they fell apart.
Fantastic Four #297 - I remember being so captivated by the Thing, and how he was the most tragic concept to my toddler brain. Also getting lost in space was pretty heavy.
Silver Surfer #3 - It's mostly a whole issue of the Silver Surfer getting beat up by a guy, so I'm not entirely sure why he became my favorite character. I guess more bleakness in space. Maybe he just reminded me of the Silver Hawks.
Classic X-Men #14 - More terrifying space adventures, I'm noticing a theme.
Avengers #285 - My introduction to Captain America was him with his legs broken and sitting in a cave. Comics in the 80s were pretty grim, huh? I loved it though, especially Black Knight because he had a sword and swords are amazing to three-year-olds.
I didn't actually make comics until I was in my 20s, but it's neat to look back at what got me reading them!
