Echo did not quite understand why Alice kept giving her slices of meat. Every time they ate, Alice made sure there was some kind of meat on her plate, and the action baffled Echo greatly. Echo did not like meat all that much, after all.

But, Alice would always insist and Echo found herself obliging. Echo had no issues with Alice now. The fighting and antagonism were all said and done. By the time Alice was back from the Abyss, Echo was told to no longer be enemies with her, so she wasn't.

Echo actually liked Alice, even if Alice annoyed her and confused her, like with this meat. Even when Echo told Alice that she was not fond of meat, Alice would tell her to be quiet and eat it because "The Seaweed Head told me that meat is important. It has protain...or something, in it." Or because "Sharon told me that pale people need to eat a lot of meat to stay healthy!"

This issue of Alice and meat got to a point where Echo realized she was unable to handle it alone, and so, she decided to go to Oz for help and advice. When she questioned him about Alice's odd behavior, Oz just laughed and said "It's her way of apologizing to you and showing you that she likes you."

The next time Alice placed meat on her plate at a meal, Echo told her "thank you" and her face lit up in a smile. After that, Echo slowly, but surely came to like eating meat, especially when it was meat from Alice.
