It was day break when the boys came back to the lair, Leo was helping Raph to his room, he noticed Donnie, he was hunched over, exhausted and was heading to his lab, Leo narrowed his eyes. “Mikey take Raphael.” He said.
Mikey came up, helping his older brother out, Leo watched them for a moment before heading into Donnie’s lab, he saw his younger brother sitting in his chair and turning his computer on. “What are you doing?”
“Work.”
Leo frowned, coming to Donnie. “Donnie, its six in the morning.”
“I know, but...I need to try harder.” He said softly, Leo widened his eyes at the words of his brother, remembering what he had said. A small pang of guilt formed inside him, laying a hand over Donnie’s shoulder. “Can I check you over first?”
Donnie frowned up at Leo, a risen brow. “Why?”
“Cause your my little brother, plus you got electrocuted Donnie.” Leo frowned. “And...we need to talk...”
takin aback by his older brother he looked away, turning off his computer and standing. “Alright...”
Donnie followed Leo out, sitting on the couch in the pit, he detached his ninja gear though leaving only his wrappings and mask on. Looking over at Leo, he noticed Leo was doing the same thing.
“So...What do we need to talk about?” He asked, observing his older brother, who was getting situated on the floor across from him.
Putting the red first aid kit down beside him, Leo looked up at his little brother. “Donnie, about earlier,what i said...” Leo looked down, rubbing the back of his head a bit, “I didnt mean to...yell at you like I did. I know you do a lot, I guess I was scared, and...worried.”
Donnie sat there and listened, he felt a small smile curve on his olive green face. “Leo...”
Leo looked up at his younger brother. Donnie slid off the bench and got down on the floor, he grabbed onto his brother’s hands. “Dont worry Leo. We’ll get her back...” He said softly.
Leo looked down, “Im sorry Donnie.”
Donnie shrugged, “We’ve had worse, its not going to be our last fight.”
Leo nodded, his frown never expired, Donnie got closer to his brother and wrapped his arms around his brother. “Stop it Leo, your okay, we’re okay, Karai will be okay, stop putting all this on you.”
Leo buried his face in his brother, hiding his face, “Im sorry Donnie, I didnt---”
“Stop it, Leo I dont blame you, you were frustrated, we both were.” He said rubbing his brothers shell, “Just know, I still love you.”
Leo’s frowned turned a bit, he pulled back from Donnie, they both shared a look before Leo tore his gaze and grabbed Donnie’s arm, and started unwrapping the wraps. They both were silent till Leo spoke. “Dont over work yourself, okay?”
Donnie smiled a bit, “Your the leader.”
Leo chuckled, smiling a bit more, “Braniac.”
“Space dork.” Donnie teased.
Leo rolled his eyes. “Thanks.”
“Anytime bro.” Donnie put his thumb up, “Seriously, anytime...and hey, im sorry too...”
Leo was a bit surprised, he didnt expect the apology. “You are?”
“Yeah, you werent the only one who yelled and said things...” Donnie said.
Leo gave him a long look, then nodded, “Thanks Don.”
“Like I said...Anytime brother.”
