Luna's first week with us at our apartment has been a remarkable success. I would have never imagined that she would be so well trained and that our first week could be so easy. Thomas and I take turns walking her. She does remarkably well on the leash--as long as her handler is paying attention and managing the situation. The things that are amazing about this dog: 1. She does not approach any of the trash cans in the house no matter what type of goodies are disposed in them. 2. She will not get on the furniture under any circumstances. Thomas has even tried to coax her onto his bed to hang out and she will not stay for more than a minute. 3. She does not bark. She will alert to people and other animals-especially cats-but she does it with body language and maybe an occasional whine or squeal. 4. So far she has been friendly with all people and animals. She has been faced with one or two nasty dogs (of course they are a tenth of her size). She could have killed any of them in less than a second, but she just wagged her little nub and went on about her business. 5. She does not beg for human food and has so far stuck to Dog Chow and assorted canine treats. I did bring her a rib-eye bone from Long Horn and she loved it, but no table food so far. 6. When managed on a leash, she will walk at "heel" and not fight her handler. She also knows her name, and the command sit (with a hand signal) and she knows "no." She responds quickly when told "No!" I really love our dog and I hope she stays this manageable. I know it is more up to me than her. The training is continuous and when she is not training she is regressing.
