The connection between mental health and Holistic Psychotherapy
Mental health is vital, especially in society nowadays where suicide or suicidal attempt is the order of the day. Strange things keep happening every day, and this is going to continue forever. Therefore we need to keep being pertinent about our mental health. So, what’s the way forward? Discover yourself.
We are one way or the other looking for ways to discover ourselves but discovering ourselves by ourselves can be hard, especially if you are someone with low self-esteem. This has led many to depression, and anxiety disorders and oftentimes leads to suicidal thoughts. The question now is, how do we discover ourselves to avoid all these setbacks? This can be achieved by undergoing what we call holistic psychotherapy.
Holistic Psychotherapy Explained
This approach is a way of treating a whole individual which includes the mind, spirit, body and emotions. It is also known as talk therapy, the idea is to bring together the socio, cultural and biological components of an individual together. When this is done, everything about that individual is treated altogether. In the real sense, the various pieces that make up an individual cannot be separated, that is spirit, mind, soul and body. And this all together works with the physical body and its environment, this is the reason why this approach is used.
What does holistic therapy treat?
The major condition it treats is the mental health and sometimes our physical health, especially the emotional part of our physical health. It also can be used to treat one’s well-being and overall health. Note this is not replacing the medical health treatment, it’s just aid and can be done alongside medical treatment. Holistic therapy treats a lot of conditions, they are depression, emotional meltdown, career problems, anxiety, substance misuse and addictions, relationship problems, physical health, life transitions, sexual abuse trauma, stress, any form of trauma, chronic diseases and pains and lots more.
How is it done?
The holistic therapy process at Four Mile Transport is not daunting; it all depends on your professional therapist. It depends on their method of treatment and how they work. The first and foremost process is the patient assessment. The patient discusses everything he/she is going through mentally, socially and physically, and then based on this assessment, a process of the treatment plan is drawn.
