short trip to the casino [ closed ]

Carl had never taken much interest in the casino, actually. He knew very well that Molly ran it, and he had tried the small slots on the advice of multiple people saying that it was a decent, fun little activity that usually resulted in winning something. He tried them because they were low risk, and that was partly what made it less stressful.

For whatever reason, though, he decided to go in and try the higher stakes. Just one game, he wouldn’t be so silly as to risk more. It was a risk, after all.

After a short debate, he decided on the Super Slots. A simple game, much like ripping a bandaid it would be over in a second and he’d either win or lose. The anxiety that spiked at the initial pull, though--!

He was relieved to see it win, and sighed, still not trusting it. He pulled again, anxiously waiting for the spin to end before it landed on another win.

Now he narrowed his eyes at it, not trusting to let himself get too carried away in trusting it. This game could make him lose quite a lot in an instant, after all. He pulled again, and was right. But at least it wasn’t quite a lot. One more pull...

And he was surprised that he came out ahead. But goodness, he wasn’t sure he was interested in trying that again.
