"All Comes Back Around" is the Second of a series of 12 reggae-ish songs I will be recording in this krazy way. I wrote them all in 2-3 hours on a brisk jog in Malibu Creek Canyon. By "written" I mean sketched. I wrote the beat/bassline, the melody and the hook. I wanted to preserve the creative frenzy they were written and sketched in. So I'm recording them in the order they were written, while not finishing the writing till just before the moment of recording. In real-world spaces. With great new directors and no budget.
I may release the raw sketches one day. Recorded LIVE (as first sketched) using a nifty lil iPhone app called "FourTrack" by Sonoma Wire Works plus a lil handheld mic/recorder Eric Meeks, the director, Took us up to the top of the hollywood hills and dumped us there under a deadly safety hazzard. I recorded the Beat/Bassline and then the "Skank" and then the vocals on top. Shot it all without moving the camera and then patched it together in Final Cut. Enjoy!
