Growing up, Aso Oke was this fabric used whenever there's a party; weddings, burial ceremonies, birthdays and coronations weren't complete without a group of people sporting Aso Oke with the same pattern and design in Yoruba land (a tribe in the southwestern part of Nigeria), Back then, children had Aso Oke garments on their birthdays. It was used as Gele (head tie), Iro (wrapper), Fila (cap). Now I'm older and we decided we can tweak this thing. This fabric is durable, it doesn't wear out, my grandma still has some from decades ago. What if this is Africa's gift to the world? what if this our own denim? IN the fourthman dream, we saw everyone on the street rocking one garment made from this fabric. All around you will either an aso oke pant (we call it trouser), aso oke shift dress or maybe Aso Oke JACKET. A jacket that will last a lifetime, you can give your granddaughter as a vintage piece. The Fourthman presents this collection of stripes and bold colors - Aso Oke Jackets.
