1. If Vanora was a little more sadistic and a little less about being in control at all times, she would be perfectly content to let Asmo wreak havoc on Tevinter willy nilly. Just fuck with everyone while she picked her way through the aftermath of his fun and took what she wanted. Obviously, the people on her shit list would go first, but seeing him let loose would be something indeed.

2. Although they’re relaxed around one another and friendly, Vanora is under no illusions that they’re lifelong chums, or that she doesn’t need to worry much about him. Asmodeus is extremely powerful, and a bit fickle--should she misstep she’s well aware that it could be the end of her. She’s not as uptight about it as she was in the beginning, but it’s something that always lurks in the back of her mind. They get along, and their relationship is mutually beneficial, but she fears that one day it will cease to be so.

3. Vanora likes her life in Tevinter, her power and her position, but she finds herself jealous of Asmodeus on occasion. He has all the power he needs, but none of the social or political obligations she does. He’s a free agent, able to do whatever he likes whenever he wants. It isn’t a constant feeling, but she has days where she very much envies him.

4. Even though he’s got dangerous ass claws, and a tail, and isn’t the most polite creature around--he is a good cuddler. It seems like an odd trait for a demon to have, but between the warmth and the care taken to avoid slashing her to bits on accident, he’s not a bad person to share a bed with. Depending on the circumstances, of course. Combine that with his lack of boundaries and you get the only person to share Vanora’s bed.

Tali’s favourite fruit is kind of boring, she really likes apples. usually cooked into something or prepared in some way, but an apple has to be her favourite fruit.

The edge of the parchment envelope would be thoroughly creased by the time Draco received it at the rate Astoria was going. Fiddling incessantly with the no-longer-crisp edge, she finally made up her mind and tied it to the leg of the large snowy owl she rented from the lodge she was staying in. As it disappeared into into the night, she shivered, not due to the cold and snowflakes starting to swirl around her, but second guessing the letter that she should have sent weeks ago. The letter that was so meaningless it shouldn’t have been sent, but he had enough going on then to deal with her existential crisis.

I hope you have been receiving my packages in tact and I am not wasting my Galleons on a bird that can’t fly straight. I can’t speak to the reliability off all the properties listed with the ingredients, some were just local folklore. Test them on an elf first. Don’t make me come back there to kill you.

There’s a lot of really fascinating things out here, I think I have a bit of a to-do list now. Tell your mum I say hi and give Sprinkles a scratch.

Ra: Do you have any major responsibilities or importance?

Astoria’s scoff ruffled the stack of parchment between them. Usually, their study sessions were silent save the scratch of quills or the murmur for a different book, a new ink well. Draco was passed his ears in N.E.W.T.s, Merlin knew what else, and Astoria frankly didn’t want to hear about it. She could feel his stress across the table; it was certain he could feel hers as well. Still, alone was stifling and claustrophobic. 

“My mother would tell you I have a great many responsibility,” she leaned back with a glare. Not meant for him, Astoria’s gaze fixed on the wall just beyond Draco’s shoulder. She hadn’t thought much about what to do after school, not now. There of course were plenty of responsibilities: become a productive member of society, get her mother sober, bend over backwards and pretend pretend pretend. 

Astoria shrugged and looked at him, “Perhaps it would be better to have none for a while.” 

Cernunnos: What is your favorite animal?

Behind her mug of tea, Astoria’s nose wrinkled. Though Sprinkles curled on the bit of cushion she could find between the two humans pinning down the blanket they shared and though Astoria absently scratched behind the cat’s ear she still answered, “Ones that stay outside the house,” the corner of her mouth twitched into a smirk at this random question.

“There was a deer at the tree line yesterday morning. I couldn’t help but wonder where it goes, if other deer were waiting for it. I think birds though-- that freedom to go anywhere.” 

She paused, tentatively following up his question with her own, “Do you still have a broom Draco? I actually got a D in Flying first year.”

Astoria laughed, an actual full laugh before she could catch herself and arrange her features into that characteristic smirk. She shook her head at Draco for causing her to have such an undignified outburst, but humor danced in her eyes. 

“It was actually the beginning of fifth year, Milli and I were flinging crumpled bits of parchment across the library at some Ravenclaws, I think. Doesn’t matter. One of our spells missed, ricochetted off a book. We never did find out what happened, because we were legging it out of there as fast as we could manage. The book started fucking sprouting! Last I saw roots were wrapping around their table and Hagrid knocked over a second year lumbering over to see what the fuss was.”

who gets overwhelmed by small acts of kindness? Astoria, not because Draco is unkind, but because most days are when all he can manage to be pleasant is to keep his mouth shut and spend the day in his study; if his pain even lets him out of bed on a particularly rough day. So any above and beyond took a deal of planning and consideration on his part. 

who flinches at sudden movements? Draco. This is exacerbated by sheer exhaustion. Astoria learned this quickly when she genuinely thought he was going to collapse on the spot one day when became overly excited about a spell she finally mastered. 

who is most confused as to why their S.O. is still with them? Perhaps both, but I think Astoria tbh. She knew very well how rare it was to let some chip away at his walls and yet when he started breaking down hers as well, she split. Of course that was not the primary reason she left England, but hindsight is 20/20 and realizes she more or less abandoned him.

who has to constantly check their S.O. still loves them? Draco maybe, see above for possible separation/abandonment anxiety. 

who says the other/s would be better off with someone else? I think this would only get thrown around in a fight. Both are very selfish and even when they’re pissy with each other, couldn’t imagine the other with someone else. Psh, pls folks.

who gets surprised when they are given gifts? Draco, he’s still like a little child when it comes to presents. 

who is most likely to break down on the other and how does their S.O. attempt to calm them down? Both honestly. They both keep it together for the sake of public image. But, I think Astoria more so with a major break down because she bottles things up for so long and refuses to not go about her normal, daily business. Draco is a bit more free with his emotions then she is. For Draco: tea, super soft blanket, and quiet. For Astoria: a good solid vent session, fresh air, space wide open space. 

who is most self conscious in public? A-stori-a. She plays calm, cool, and collected so well but she is hyper aware of her surroundings. She is very aware of what her choices and decisions imply especially once the Malfoy name is attached to her. 

who is more likely to apologize a million time for a tiny mistake? Neither. The whole thing with them is the can just be around each other without the pressure or hyper-vigilance of the outside world. If someone messes up, they address it, and move on. 

who admits they’re scared only when they think their S.O. is asleep and how does the other react? Astoria and Draco pulls a Han Solo and murmur’s back that he knows. Which is good, cause she doesn’t like to talk about feelings and he knows and it’s ok.

who never thinks they’re good enough for the other? Um…neither. They’re both pretty well up their own asses about themselves.

who takes a bullet for the other? Draco. He has so few people in his life that he allows to have meaning; he is utterly lonely lbh. He would do anything to save someone he loved from dying and leaving him alone again. Also Draco could not physically do single parenting.

A quill rattled against parchment sporadically. Elbow pressed into the table, Astoria’s free hand knotted in her hair, unseeing eyes stared down the the text splayed in front of her. The silence in the library did nothing for her...almost silence. At some point the whispers had to stop right? Catty little twats had to get bored eventually right? You never got bored, her own small quiet voice mocked her. 

Now the noises in the Great Hall made her stomach churn. Astoria shifted in her seat, back painfully rigid, her eyes glanced around the room with deep scorn. It wasn’t just an uncomfortable flop in her gut, the young witch could feel her heart rushing in her ears. Not ten feet to her left row after row of bodies lined the floor in her vision. She looked away, but that wall was nothing save rubble. The lump in her throat wouldn’t swallow.

An uncharacteristic jumbled mess became the book, the unwritten essay, ink, quill all slammed together in her arms; bag flung hastily over her shoulder. Head swimming she stormed through the crowd, her shoulder caught on that of some other student.

“Don’t. Touch me,” the bite that would have ripped off the offending student a year ago was no where to be heard. She. was. tired. Barely a pause in her step, chin forced high she didn’t glance back. She didn’t stop until she found herself in the middle of the Quidditch Pitch of all places. In the middle of the field Astoria set about organizing herself. It calmed her, meticulously setting a perfect study space; books, wand, cloak laid out precisely just so. Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. She would not give in, would not give them the satisfaction of seeing a pureblood break. Cross legged, her panic anger echoed in the empty space around her via the relentless flip of pages.

What is the point?! The book fell to the ground in front of her, tossed aside in defeat. Flopped onto her back Astoria closed her eyes against the setting sun. She could breathe, there were walls enough around her to be safe, she forced her mind to stop, to allow her to catch her breath. Footsteps on gravel caught her attention. 

“The pitch has been reserved,” she snapped a bold-faced lie and the hautiness was back long enough to clearly tell whomever was bothering her to piss off.
