Any suggestions/thoughts for fox!Wild?

okay so I’m ngl my first thought was how hunting foxes used to be a very popular sport, and how fox!Wild would have to be wary of that (I'm happy to report that it seems to be going out of fashion in our modern age at least 😭)

foxes have a reputation for being clever and, unlike owls, it’s actually well founded! they’re wicked smart and very athletic too, and I think that fits Wild very well :)

they also tend to be solitary but social, which I think reflects his journey in botw very nicely

foxes have an amazing sense of smell (important for intraspecific communication via scent marking) and hearing (especially low frequency sounds), as well as vision adapted for all sorts of different lighting conditions (making hunting possible during the day as well as at night), although they are apparently myopic and depend on movement to focus on an object

like dogs, they are also green-red colorblind. do with this information what you will

TAPETUM LUCIDIUM. someone wakes up in the middle of the night and sees Wild all 🟢🟢 and promptly has a heart attack

foxes can sense the earth’s magnetic field and use this to triangulate the location of their prey

Wild needs to do the iconic fox jump at least once 🥺

they're also very vocal and make a large variety of vocalizations

I think it’d be interesting if Twilight was incapacitated or in need of some sort of rescuing 👀 being unable to help Wild through this would kill him lol

there is the matter of the master sword as well, which would necessitate taking Sky out of the picture 🤔 OR, for a different spin on things, if Twilight is missing and Wolfie is obviously unavailable to help them track him down, maybe Wild intentionally chooses to use the shadow crystal to find Twilight 👀👀👀👀

also if you want to get real fancy and connect this fic to opossum Hyrule, maybe Hyrule is the one who helps Wild adjust to a new form :) bonus points for any shenanigans they get into hehehehehe

For the wip ask thing… fox Wild? 👀

It's not very fleshed out- I need to do some more plotting lol. In essence, it's another one of those "member of the chain gets turned into their animal dark world for by twi's crystal" fics. I hc Wild's dark world form to be a fox :)

Somehow, Twi and the other adults in the room are unwillingly seperated from the group, Twi drops his crystal on purpose so they have a better chance of finding them. Maybe? That may not be the ideal plot. But the point of it all is Wild gets to be a fox, makes forest friends, is traumatised by meeting a rabid fox, doesn't want to transform back cuz it hurts, and I get to wax poetic about all the wonderful characteristics of autumn. Happy ending. I don't want it to have too much plot so that anyone who just wants to read about Wild having little fox adventures can enjoy it. I may just do one shots. I got no idea!

I do want to do illustrations if I do a full fledged planned out fic, so this is definitely a long term project lol
