I finished the second mitten.
Just need to weave in the ends and block her tomorrow.
Knitting question:
I am making a pull over. I have enough yarn to either do the body, or the sleeves, before I need to get more yarn. Would it be better to possibly have a different dye lot on the body, or a different dye lot on the sleeves. I think the sleeves would be easier, I think it wouldn't be as noticeable, but I don't know for sure.
For reference, I am knitting the vardag everyday pull over (a free pattern) and I am using lions brand fishermans wool that I frogged from an older project that I didn't ever wear.
??
finish the body with the old wool/sleeves with the new
pause the body/do the sleeves with the old wool/finish the body with the new
fox's button please don't press
Not the outfit to wear to show this thing off, but anyways. I'm at the length the pattern wants me to knit it to. It will grow an inch with blocking and the ribbing is another 2.5 inches.
Someone who knows anything about knitting cables.
I did these top ones backwards, didn’t I? Anyone know any good video tutorials for going back without doing the full rows? 😅
Finished the cuff. It technically fits, but I'm really not a fan of how messy the colourwork looks. Is it the yarn? Is it me? I did try my hand at a new technique but my floats look good on the inside.
I'm torn between carrying on and seeing what happens and starting over. At the very least it's good practice.
Frogged the original thing I was working on, since I wasn't happy with it. Started working on something new with a free pattern I found. Yarn that I think will be cute if it works out but I'd be okay leaving as a single mitten for show if not. I just need to practice my colourwork tension, because the two handed method does NOT work for me.
Pretzel has been sleepy today, which I'm trying not to panic about. She's still eating and going to the bathroom which are always my stabilizing factors. She just wanted to enjoy a sleepy Saturday with me.
Jays pitchers locked it down today so we won even with only a single run. Hopefully it's a sign of positivity to come. The pregame ceremony was also very cool, even for someone who hasn't been watching baseball very long.
I also did decide to do grocery pickup. I have to go to two different Walmart locations because one has my meds and the other my groceries. But the one that does my meds doesn't do pickup, so that's how that had to go. I should switch my pharmacy location now that it's not in my backyard, but with how much grief it's been to get set up here I don't know if it's worth it.
Finally wore the shirt I knit into the wild and took an awkward picture! I’m so proud of myself for redoing it so I could be happy with it.
