“A Piece of My Heart, A Piece of My Soul.”

The idea sprung on me beginning about a year ago. Looking through the camera, focusing good shots on my pieces, I would find a sense of admiration for the smaller compositions I could visualize within. The complexity of details but at the same time so simplistic forms, I found myself observing a cosmos within a cosmos, the smaller pieces representing an integral part of a whole. Each individual piece, a simple fragment of chaos, flowing together with harmony to create something greater, ...a universe.

I took up this project with the aim of sharing my newly found art as gifts to those whom I love, with family and friends for the holidays. Giving the gift of art means a lot to me. It is special because my art is a reflection of myself. It is a piece of my heart, a piece of my soul, it represents a small piece of me. I cannot express in words how it makes me feel to create. It is a channel, a retreat, a happy place for my mind to get lost in. It is a peaceful place. It is a way to express my emotions, a way to express myself. I feel it is what I must do, it is what makes me who I am.
