Samuel had just grown comfortable with wandering outside of his cell - he wasn’t quite at the point of wandering through the city yet, not with all of the... creatures that lurked, not with his tendency to take days to learn new cities before he could navigate them. But the cells he could do - he could learn them like the back of his hand before venturing further.
That’s what he was doing when his eyes landed on books upon books in one boy’s cell. The boy looked human, to Samuel’s eyes, but who was he to say what this kid was? Either way, he decided that now was probably the best time to start trying to make friends. “You’ve got a really nice collection...” his voice was still soft in tone, rough from disuse. “Books - I mean. Your books.”
