Another baby for Iris???
About to head to bed, but I need yall to know that for March 26 of my An Egg a Day challenge I hatched a double!! :o
Seems like today is a good day!
Huh okay. Arcane is the last egg slot I need for the hibden, but I think I’ll save this one to hatch at the end of the event. Unless I really don’t like the new breed release at all, then I might yeet it.
Nests and why they are the way that they are:
Fire: the hatchling inside is a mass of magma and biology. If the egg cools the hatchling may become intolerant to heat or their skin may solidify causing a “stone” hatchling, the hotter the nest the better for a fire dragon
Ice: the wilderness in the frigid wastelands is opportunistic, egs, seemingly made of ice and tucked under branches and brambles keep the shivering babies safe, though it is cold now they will come to appreciate the chill later in life
Arcane: eggs of concentrated magic. The crystal growths that loom over them keep it contained and make sure the children don’t mutate before they are born, the phenomena is called control facets and they also protect magic signatures from being shared between nests
Plague: a rotting body or creation from Gladekeepe offers a decaying pool of festering disease. Filth and pestilence in abundance offers up dragons with amazing adaptations and immunities, the thin membrane of egg sits in the festering wealth and absorbs every toxin available its amazing that only dragons hatch from these pustules
Nature: these eggs are planted, dusted by fireflies and sometimes bloom if in excellent health, the humid jungle heats the loose soil and keeps eggs warm while creatures hunting for roots are fended off by large beasts guarding a enviable grazing zone
Wind: these dragons are busy and energetic and take shifts in keeping eggs warm, the breeze is low and warm where the nests are placed and well guarded. Mothers and nest keepers often sing together excitedly for the day their brethren spill into the world
Light: almost clear shells soak in the sun, you can see your child and they can see you, they are safe and warm in the sun and often hatch bleached from the light. Mothers who lay eggs in the shade tend to incubate frequently and frantically and end up with hatchlings with saturated colors, often seen as a mother scorning the gift of light so generously bestowed by Lightweaver
Earth: dragons born to earth are hardy from the moment they hatch, shattering the shells of stone and sand and shaking away the rubble. They hide nests in soft sand or cracked pits to bake under the hot eye and their parents lounge and tell stories to their children hoping that the Earthshaker will loosen their rubble to let them listen
Shadow: the forest is a pitted black with glowing entities so the eggs are no exception, everything here is tricky and scheming so dragons nest in groups and keep vigilant watch for the wicked denizens of the Tangled Wood. Areas that have been cleared for lumber offer easy premade nests
Lightning: these dragons work hard and have no time to collect more comforting materials. They are surrounded by the spire and its storm and their eggs will also be surrounded by the spire and its storm. Charged with harvested electricity the hum buzz crackles and jumps from egg to egg. They sting when you touch them and its probably good for it keeps them safer from predators.
Water: coral reefs are cluttered with holes and pits and life. Egg eaters, scavengers and leviathans lurk below the waves and dragons often return to the same place to nest. Barnacles are artificially placed on the eggs to slice those who would eat them and toxic coral further wards away threats. The warm currents help in between the more intense incubations
Finally time to hatch the egg I saved for Christmas ahdjahdjahdhahdh
Oh?
Hm alright. Not what I was expecting but could've been much worse! I'll scry him and see what I can do but I'm pretty sure I'll be selling him :( if anyone is interested feel free to comment! His colors are 1/4 in game but he's the only G1
