Sweden has a history of being the breeding grounds for fantastic indiepop. For this week’s installment of Fractal Chambers, I wanted to highlight some of their gems, whilst mixing in some indiepop from outside of Sweden (I couldn’t help myself).
This show features Swedish Indiepop acts from the 90s (Happydeadmen, Poprace) in addition to newer acts (Moon Types, Whalo, The Sun Days). Threw in a Television Personalties track in there too because why not??

I really like making friends with folks who know more about the music I love than I do. And if I find out they’ve never had an opportunity to do radio, I usually highly urge them to take over my show for the week, primarily because 1- people who know that much about music really shouldn’t keep it to themselves, and 2- there’s a 100% likelihood of me being completely blown away by what they put together.
So for this week, I was super grateful to have my friend Ryan do a guest show on the latest installment of Fractal Chambers. As a very seasoned record collector, he knows his shit (and saying so feels like such an understatement).
This week we have pop of the new wave, dreamy, and experimental sorts. From the likes of SF natives The Units to the wacky-and-brilliant R. Stevie Moore, Ryan totally destroyed it with a buncha really f’ing killer cuts.
Check it out! Ryan’s set can be listened to in its entirety following the link above.
