@fractalspades said: this place looks like a demonic kindergarten. (Victor)
"Well, you're not too far off the mark," Faye said, looking down the dingy hall. Dim fluorescent lights flickered overhead, barely hiding the grime and filth smeared along the walls and floor. Old drawings, faded and half-ravaged by time were still pinned to crumbling corkboards. A few boards had fallen, a series of dirty, careless footprints left on scraps of paper.
"I'm told this used to be a school before they tore the building above ground down," she said, ignoring the cold crawling up her spine like a wandering spider. "Now it's used as an entrance to part of the Underworld. At least in this sector."
Her steps were quiet as she walked down the hall, glancing in each of the open rooms she passed. Several still had desks pointed toward empty chalkboards, posters of animals and people once colorful were now dull and ominous at a glance. She continued walking down the hall, only stopping when she came to a closed door. Only a quick glance down the rest of the hall was given before she turned the handle and into the seemingly empty room. It was only when Victor entered that she closed the door behind him.
"Somewhere in here..." she moved to the middle and placed her hands on her hips, "is a way into the underbelly..." Faye clicked her tongue against her teeth, scrutinizing the room. Like the others, it was covered in dirt and dust. A large desk stood in front of the old chalkboard, facing two large bookshelves holding only a few children's books with spines and edges that had been gnawed on by mice and rats.
@fractalspades since we decided to skip the escape. TEEHEE.
