Anna entered her room, head turned down as her father marched her in. She stopped short and lifted her head - eyes wide at the sight of Elijah battered and bruised. "HOW COULD YOU!" She turned around and slapped her father, then ran forward and crawled up onto her bed to hold Elijah, tears on her face. "I will take care of you." She whispered against his ear.

    It had happened so fast; he had been working out in the field and the next thing he knew, he had been hauled in front of Mr. Raegan. The blows had been swift and painful, of the body and of the face. He had blacked out and found himself in this room, one he hadn't ever been in before and he could barely see out of one eye. He hummed and looked at her, reaching up to touch her face before feeling sick. "Home," he whispered.

His face made her squirm, then she leaned forward and kissed him repeatedly. "Mmmm god. Stop callin' me that."

    Elijah hummed a little bit and pressed his lips to hers repeatedly. "Call you what? Baby?" he teased and kissed her again.
