Expressionist art: seeing fragmentation. One of the paintings (Paul Kee) looks like floor tiles and bits of a house's features, outlets, etc.

Fragmentation and expressionist art is a response to political, technological and social changes. Realism was too solid for a world constantly changing. Fragmentation was flexible, sort ot.
World War one made people feel like the world was breaking into "fragments"..
