The wind blew in a short gust, hard enough to blow François’ hair out of his face and expose his pleading face fully to the night sky, but soft enough to gently caress his cheeks in the process. He stood in silence before the moon, as if he was awaiting his final judgment against the wind. 

 Beside the moon, a distant body twinkled, then dropped from the sky and evaporated against the darkness with a beautiful streak. It seemed to be the catalyst, because then a second followed. Then a third. Then the stars themselves showered around him, as if the Heavens themselves wept in approval of such a harmonious union, overwhelmed with pride and joy that their lovely Lotte might be given the life she needs and deserves. François couldn’t help but join them and cried tears of joy as well.

Anon requested Francois pining for Lotte in private. Since he never met Lotte’s parents and isn’t even sure she has them, he chooses the next best way to ask for a blessing for her hand in marriage. 

Unfortunately the ask got eaten but I haven’t stopped thinking about it since i got it, and @hoork gave me the idea to illustrate this scene from Book 1! This is his biggest pining moment in the book imo ;0
