'm really happy you brought up that point about Beltorchika and Amuro--since I think you'on point about their relationship. i mean, I think it kind of points out how people just kind of end up with each other because it's convenient and a short term solution to deep inner problems. compared to the ideal of Amuro and Frau ending up together. made me think that Fa and Kamille may have the most deep relationship in the show, since they have their good and bad times, but they work it out. thoughts.?
"He’s such a sweet boy. And she’s a very good girl. And brave, both of them.""They remind you of anyone, Frau?""…No, Amuro, you were like that before the war.""…Ouch." Understanding she meant ‘needing to be closely looked after and fed’, as opposed to "sweet"."But true. And I certainly never wanted to pilot anything. …Or join the military, really." Frau sighed.Amuro’s hand curled over her arm. “I wasn’t separated from you for weeks. Or months.”"Just years."

…Well, other than giving me the opportunity to put up part of a fic I’ve been writing for years (thanks), Frau runs into Amuro’s room at the beginning to get Amuro. And get the show going.Fa runs into Kamille’s empty room, no Kamille, at the start of Z for… his trophies.
…That sums up a lot of it for me.
Amuro and Frau were best friends. Not boyfriend and girlfriend.
That Kamille and Fa were sort-of bf/gf but-definitely NOT best friends, and more typical teenagers generally, and the difference that makes, was totally obvious through all of Z.
Amuro and Frau never get split up, not really. She’s with him the entire time, for better or worse.
(So deep, we don’t even see Fa for large parts of Zeta.)
So deep, that their relationship in ZZ is now a parody of MSG with Kamille actually being catatonic and Fa actually doing nothing but nursing and feeding him… but they get their happy ending, anyway.
They’re both nice kids, and I have no problem writing them as such, and together ever after, but Fa Yuiry in general, and her relationship with Kamille, is another giant rant button for me.
