Robert De Niro - A Bronx Tale (1993)
I just rewatched Veronica Mars and I still love it just as much, but there’s no way I'm convinced he's supposed to be a 17-year-old high schooler.
FRANCIS CAPRA as WEEVIL NAVARRO in VERONICA MARS S01E07
Eli “Weevil” Navarro- Veronica Mars.
Words cannot express how much I love their dynamic. Kristen and Francis are literally so funny together like who makes taunting kissy faces and a sarcastic enthusiastic thumbs up this funny?
She calls him a dork for when he starts to apologize to her in the pilot for crying out loud - who calls a motorcycle gang leader A DORK - that shit is so funny to me 😹 and he knows her so well he knows how to play on her curiosity when he needs her help and she’s pretending she won’t give it even though we all know she’s incapable of saying no when someone asks for help. To clarify I don’t ship them I like their dynamic exactly as is it’s just so delicious and playful and funny. So of course Rob has to wreck it in the season that shall not be named….
Anyway Veronica & Weevil friendship appreciation post because they always make me laugh 🥰
ReWatch: Veronica Mars - S2, E21 - 22
Ep 21:Happy Go Lucky holy shit, this episode opens with a school shooting that turns out the guy with the gun was firing blanks, but the security guard kills him. Ugh man. Aired in 2005, I can only assume there was a warning at the beginning of the episode when it originally aired. It's still very jarring.
Beaver teaching Weevil algebra is so awkward, so of course Mac comes to the rescue, taking over the torturing. Good news is that Weevil passed.
Woody fled on his plan (if only Lamb acted quicker but (once again) he had to be guilted into it by Keith). Aaron was found not guilty, which, I know why it was done for TV, but my goodness how is there doubt?! Of course I have the benefit of knowing for sure that Aaron and Lily had an affair.
Ep 22: Begin Again Even on rewatch, I hate that Lamb took Weevil from the graduation. Why? Because Lamb is an asshole on a power trip. He could have stood off to the side and waited for the ceremony to end, then arrest him. Ugh, I hate it so much.
Mac is really the best, so supportive and kind to Beaver. Then there's Veronica who makes such a mistake texting Mac instead of continuing to call.
I do love how awful they keep Aaron, he doesn't try and hide that he murdered Lily when talking to Veronica. Keep an evil person evil, we all cheer when the Kane (Head of Security) kills him later. (And in touch with Duncan.)
The rooftop scene is so intense, I had forgotten everything that happens up there. Everything was wrapped up in a Beaver bow. He raped Veronica back in season 1, he caused the bus crash to keep Woody's molestation a secret, he blew up the plane with Woody in it. The most real thing about the ending was Beaver turning around, asking for a reason not to jump off the building. And Logan and Veronica had nothing to say. It's terrible what happened to Cassidy when he was young, but to turn that violent is not something I can understand.
Logan was something 🤩 Coming when texted, tackling Cassidy, being there for Veronica while she mourned her dad, then fading away to allow them a moment. Of course the season ends with them back together, which I love. I don't ... understand why Keith doesn't go with Veronica to NY as planned but allowed Kendall to ply him with money (which I know they need).
