okay so... i finished veronica mars (s1 - s3 + movie) and DAMN. I needed a proper s4 at least in between the show and the movie. s3 ended do abruptly... I get that the movie tied up some loose ends but... that show deserved more.
the acting: i chose to watch v mars because I've been on a slight mystery show kick lately (e.g. Poker Face, Wild Cards, finished both), and Poker Face was alright but the acting in Wild Cards pmo so bad. Veronica Mars pulled me in. I've seen some of the actors before here and there (strangely, not in anything major, besides Scorpion). everyone ate up their roles.
characters:
Eli/Weevil: one of my favorites, but man... he constantly gets screwed over. i really want him to be happy, and he was in the movie then BAM... like dude, wth. he deserved to walk at graduation, i need an au where he walks at graduation. of all the things Sherriff Lamb did, that was one of the worst to me. is there ever an explanation as to why his nickname is weevil?
Mac: I needed a little bit more about her, both in hs and at Hearst. she's probably the character I relate the most to. her self-awareness and wit is quite charming. the plot started things for her and then didn't really finish them up, besides Bronson. hated her hair in the movie.
Wallace: needed more growth in him, but he was pretty fun and sincere. i loved him in season 1 and 2. his plot about the car situation in Chicago was the most he got imo, and it still wasn't enough. his growth in hs was great, and his passion at Hearst was pretty cool. he disappeared for a couple of episodes in season 3 (?) without much of an explanation, but imma lowk atribute that to studying for his engineering degree. i get they were focusing on Piz a bit more but dang.
Dick: he was around the whole show and they decided to flesh him out towards the end of the final season... he was in so many scenes, in nearly every episode, they could've squeezed some more in. as a character, he pissed me off a bit (a lot), but he mentioned now and again that his whole obsession with sex and alcohol was just a distraction for him. he was a good friend to Logan, given that they've got similarly tragic situations.
Duncan: ???? alr buddy.
Cassidy: tbh, i rly liked his character (until the full final reveal). the motives made sense, but i thought he was a bit smarter and had somehow enacted revenge on Kendall through the real estate company he set up by making it fraudulent. that would've been pretty clever... the person he presented himself as throughout the show was very believable and I didn't see the twist coming. it helps that he's the only one of the white male actors i find attractive.
