Of course I appreciate them...I wrote a damn poem about them...

...not that he gets it:

"Like the sun shining through the sea,

Opalescence captures me.

A hint of gold, a hint of green,

But mostly vivid azure seen.

Pools of water in the moonlight,

Glinting silver in the night.

The dark can try to douse the glimmer,

But, for me, they always shimmer.
