The Scarlet King is the most boring character of the SK mythos. Everyone who isnt sk is more interesting by a mile. Sk is just a loser who hates everything and everyone (and himself but i dont think he's ready to unpack any of his self hatred). The bad guy of bad guys. I genuinely do not care about this fella. That's why I've always preferred scp-001 as my sk. The Scarlet King works way better as a concept than a character because it completely removes the "humanity"(sorry I dont have a better word for it) and stereotypical bad guyness of his character. Sk isnt a he anymore, it's an it and that's the part I love the most. You get to see how this idea plagues people. It feels less like a dictator talking to his people and more like how people are influenced by the ideology itself. And really sk is only interesting by his relations to other characters. Sk as a standalone character has no depth whatsoever. Just an angry bitter man. But with his daughters and Sanna you get to see the horrors he put them through and how they deal with the trauma after (like with 6462). With Jeser you get to see how sk's philosophy of the strong leading and the weak following creates a hierarchy of conquest and domination which is pretty much doomed to backfire on sk. Sk works better as a backstory or setting than a main character.
Lovely Sanna for @storyknitter !! A pleasure every time!
