This took some actual effort. Franco-German Union
from /r/vexillology Top comment: Why yellow
Yesterday, when I was doing my afternoon shift there was a Franco-German meeting outside, with two mascots. The French one was always dancing, jumping, moving - EVERYTHING - and was so full of energy, while the German one was judging him SO MUCH, just standing there and looking at him without his mask on. I coudln’t help but sketch what crossed my mind at this right moment. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Sense of Hearing (1744-1747). Philippe Mercier (Franco-German, 1689 or 1691-1760). Oil on canvas. Yale Center for British Art.
Mercier’s works added the new, 18th-century, perspective on the subject. His The Five Senses explored the ways in which painting could exceed its visual medium to appeal to the senses. In this way it embraced the growing attachment to both material and sensuous pleasures that well-fitted the era of Louis XV and his sophisticated maîtresses.

Franco-German Empire (Austro-Hungarian style)
from /r/vexillology Top comment: A flag for the two empires. The eagle on the left and black represents the German Empire, the eagle on the right and blue represent the Napoleonic French Empire. In this story Napoleon dies very early, leaving France weakened. While Prussia and Austria created the German Empire great powers like Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Russia and Britain threats to the Germans and French. Both empires decide quickly unite against the great threat.
Flag of a Franco-German Union
from /r/vexillology Top comment: I don't know if I would put the shape of the country in the middle (since its borders aren't very aesthetic imo), maybe just keep the two stars, but other than that I think it would have looked like that if such a union had happened.
