Dior Ambre Nuit
Dior Ambre Nuit
Nose: Francois Demachy
notes: bergamot, grapefruit; rose, pink pepper; ambergris, guaiac, cedar, patchouli
I didn’t think I’d like this, but I do. Ambre Nuit is a a simple, abstract, perfumey chord of pure beige, almost but not quite sweet, with a sheer, radiant, yet slightly creamy texture. It smells like good-quality beauty products — lotion, conditioner, etc. Not far from smooth lotion-y beige things like Kiehl’s Musk or Parfums d’Empire Cuir Ottoman, but lighter and more normie.
Ultra-smooth, easy-wearing, “going downtown to Macy’s for holiday shopping” mainstream comfortable elegance.
Rouge Trafalgar La Collection Privée Christian Dior Dior Nose: François Demachy
Floral
A genuine couture fragrance, Rouge Trafalgar is a lively and fruity scent, a joyful composition celebrating the red designs that would suddenly light up Christian Dior's haute couture fashion shows.
Rouge Trafalgar releases a lively and turbulent trail that electrifies the family of Maison Christian Dior fragrances. The fragrance evokes a mischievous, carefree red: Rouge Trafalgar reveals the character of a hypnotic and volcanic olfactory creation.
Unwittingly seductive, Rouge Trafalgar is a fragrance that starts with a burst and ripples forth like a kiss scented with laughter. In the wake of this outpouring, the fragrance settles into a lasting seduction with a trail that calls out to happiness.
“Rouge Trafalgar is a fragrance with the seductive signature of a delicate and mouthwatering Red Berry accord, to which I also added captivating unexpected notes like Black Currant and Grapefruit. It's a vivifying trail that reflects the famous Dior red, an iconic colour of the House. A classic that has lost none of its shine." François Demachy, Parfumeur-Créateur Dior
Key notes: Red berries, Strawberry, Raspberry, Mandarin, Blackcurrant, Violet leaves, Wood, Patchouli, Musk
Eau Sauvage (eau de toilette) Eau Sauvage Dior Nose: François Demachy
Citrus
Yesterday's revolution is today's great legend. Absolutely modern. A token of good taste and refined virility, Eau Sauvage Eau de Toilette is more than just a fragrance. It is synonymous with absolute elegance, an enduring "Dior spirit" infused with modernity. Its floral citrus signature is both refined and powerful, sophisticated and fresh. The subtle balance of San Carlo bergamot, harvested exclusively for Eau Sauvage, the vibrant touch of hedione with a unique velvety floral quality, and a distinctive chypre trail. "It is a composition as limpid as the music of Mozart. One that seems simple, but is, in reality, much more complex. It is intricately worked, each component exactly in its place. Eau Sauvage is a "just" fragrance." François Demachy, Parfumeur-Créateur Dior
Key notes: Bergamot, Hedione
J’Adore (eau de toilette) J’Adore Dior Nose: François Demachy
Floral
J'adore Eau de Toilette is an olfactory composition that beams with light. Neroli grown near Vallauris, one of the most beautiful light-filled flowers in the Grasse terroir, is brought into the heart of the legendary floral bouquet of J'adore. Dior Perfumer-Creator François Demachy thus revives in this fragrance the precious memory of the bitter orange tree groves from his childhood in Grasse.
Key notes: Blood orange, Neroli, Damask rose
Dior Homme Sport (eau de parfum) Dior Homme Dior Nose: François Demachy
Woods
Energetic and elegant, the new Dior Homme Sport eau de toilette combines fresh vivacity and charm tinted with sensuality for a duo that strikes like a boxer's uppercut. Vibrant, explosive, the opening signature of Dior Homme Sport is marked by citrus and the open air, freshness and movement. For this new Dior Homme Sport, the Dior Perfumer-Creator chose to tinge the composition with warm and amber notes, wrap it in spices and round it out with woody notes. The confident trail of Dior Homme Sport incarnates a masculinity entwined with smooth, noble qualtiy. The new Dior Homme Sport eau de toilette plays freshness and sensuality. It's a luminous scent enriched with a new, lasting impression that takes hold and lingers like a caress.
The Dior Homme monolithic bottle is renewed with a lightweight elegance. The clear glass bottle is chiseled with clean, pure lines and topped with the line's signature cap, a black cube marked with the DIOR HOMME logo enshrined within a crystalline cube.
"It's a decidedly new composition, revisited with a notion of carefree elegance. A more sophisticated trail that still retains all of its trademark energy." François Demachy, Dior Perfumer-Creator
Key notes: Amber, Spices, Woods
Spice Blend La Collection Priveé Christian Dior Dior Nose: François Demachy
Soft amber
The mere mention of the name Spice Blend is enough to open the horizon of an olfactory journey of a spicy fragrance that unites contrasts.
Spice Blend is a scent with a strong character, a fragrance that is not afraid to combine the most potent and the freshest spices with the tangy personality of Rum extract. Each note finds its rightful place in the deep, traveling aromas of this olfactory composition.
The fragrance immediately captivates, alternating between sensations of freshness and warmth.
"While I don't recall the scent of the famous Bay Rhum aftershave, I do remember a bottle in my father's medicine cabinet piquing my curiosity. Spice Blend is the olfactory translation of an exotic image that emerges from my childhood. The warm signature of this fragrance is highlighted by a surprising multitude of intertwining spices in dialogue. Like a gust of wind, Spice Blend leaves us wondering if it fans the fire or cools it down." François Demachy, Parfumeur-Créateur Dior
Key notes: Rum, Black pepper, Ginger, Bay leaf
New Look 1947 La Collection Privée Christian Dior Dior Nose: François Demachy
Floral
NAME "My dear Christian, your dresses have such a new look!" A fragrant echo of Christian Dior's first Couture show on February 12, 1947, the New Look 1947 fragrance bears the now-legendary name that Carmel Snow, Editor-in-Chief of Harper's Bazaar, used to describe this innovative and astonishing collection. CHARACTER Like the Bar suit, the iconic New Look piece, the fragrance immediately captures your attention as it unleashes the vivacity of its olfactory notes of Rose and Jasmine. DISTINGUISHING FEATURE The scent of Tuberose is gently revealed in the fragrance to those who know how to identify it, hidden behind the floral olfactory notes. COLOUR The black and white of Christian Dior's first Bar suit, a white that the fragrance unfurls with petals of Tuberose and Jasmine. FAMILY Floral. The fragrance blooms like a bouquet of Rose, Jasmine and Tuberose, imagined like a revolutionary skirt in which the tiniest details are the most precious. INTENSITY New Look 1947 is a fragrance with a trail of intense floral notes that leave a lasting impression. It is a fragrance in the image of Christian Dior's first runway show that made a powerful impact all around the world.
"The femininity of the New Look often inspires me. I wanted to compose a fragrance in which Rose and Jasmine unfurl like a skirt with an outrageous quantity of fabric worn on a narrow, slender waist. Heady Tuberose fully expresses this whirling vivacity." François Demachy, Parfumeur-Créateur Dior
Key notes: Tuberose, Rose, Jasmine
