From time to time I will share an F1 fact here, since it’s my favourite sport in the world. And this morning I became aware of something poignant. The man you’re looking at is Francois Cevert. He competed from 1970 until his death at Watkins Glen in the US GP in 1973. Francois was a teammate to the legendary 3 time world champion Sir Jackie Stewart, and was being groomed for his own championship success under the Scotsman. Francois may have only won one race, at the track that would later claim his life, but in his short career he earned a reputation as a fast and much loved and respected driver in the paddock. And today he would have been 78 years old. Happy Birthday Francois. #f1 #onthisday #francoiscevert https://www.instagram.com/p/CaZZ-w3KKMJRZQgBizL8wR7lM7UW7e-oI9-07g0/?utm_medium=tumblr
