Halloween Supplemental - Frankenstein’s Monster
Swiss biologist, Dr. Victor Frankenstein, created the monster in late 1700’s, sticking together a patchwork corpse and imbuing it with life through the power of electricity. Dr. Frankenstein was aghast at the savage creature he had created and abandoned it returning to Geneva. The monster tracked his maker down and the two would become engaged in long battle that culminated in Dr. Frankenstein’s death deep in the North Pole.
The monster them went in search of somewhere he could rest and avoid the constant fear and being hunted that had dominated his short life. It was not to be, as he encountered further danger and adventure wherever he ventured. Having returned to Europe, The Monster battled Count Dracula. Some time thereafter, he fell into frigid waters and ended up frozen in a block of ice.
The monster was thawed out in the 1970’s and exposure to the warmth caused him to reanimate. He battled the villain known as The Master and was later transported into the modern era by Kang the Conquerer who attempted to use the Monster to destroy the Avengers.
Following further adventures, The Monster was sought out by Ulysses Bloodstone. Although Bloodstone was an acclaimed monster hunter, he was able to detect a distinctively human soul in the creature. He spared the monster’s life and offered him sanctuary in Bloodstone Mannor, where he worked as a butler and caretaker to Bloodstone’s rambunctious daughter, Elsa. Elsa named the monster ‘Adam’ feeling the creature deserved a true name. Following Bloodstone’s death, Elsa took up her father’s mantle and Adam battled at her side, fighting various beats and monsters.
During the Fear Itself event, Adam (who was now going by the name ‘Frank’) joined forces with She-Hulk, Nighthawk and Howard the Duck to contain The Man-Thing who had been driven mad by the elevated levels of fear in the world. Some time thereafter, Frank became a member of the Legion of Monsters and helped Daredevil take down the Sons of The Serpent. More recently, Frank has been recruited at act as a member of the new creature-oriented iteration of The Howling Commandos.
The monstrous hero first appeared in the pages of Marvel Tales #96 (1950).

Classics are stories that have captured the minds and hearts of readers for generations. Their names, their characters, become engrained into our very culture. Whether someone has watched the movie or read the text, the name Frankenstein is known to the vast majority of our society. It conjures pictures of a hulking green monster, lightning filled sky and mad scientists holed up in labs. Despite…

since HALLOWEEN is rolling around, I decided to draw the creature (as to be referred to as Adam Frankenstein) as described in the novel.

Don't leave us in suspense, what is your favorite movie, Hulk?
Hmm. There’s a few. Hulk take high road and not mention any of his movies or “The Avengers".
Hulk like “Frankenstein" and “Dr.Jeckyll and Mr.Hyde", those are some good classics. But Hulk really liked “Wreck it Ralph". Hulk could really relate to little people judging Ralph as the villain without really getting to know him. Good movie. Go see it.
