I’ve been poking at some old projects and testing some new ideas in CAW, but nothing worth screenshotting just yet. I did, however, have some screenshots saved from my Hylewood build - this is my personal edit of Fluse’s edit of Nilxis’ Hylewood (what a mouthful!). I’ve been trying to add more commercial buildings, so I’m working on building a restaurant, hospital, movie theater, and coffee shop. The blue building is actually a hotel on Fayne Island that’s still in progress. I’ve really missed TS3, and CAW in particular. There are some projects that I’d like to release over the summer once the semester ends. Things are slowing improving for us personally (got our second shot, woo!), so I’m still hopeful for 2021. 

If you’re into Sims 3 worlds, I’ve been watching Omedapixel’s Tørsvall with great interest, it looks like it will be a super cool world! There are so many awesome sims 3 world creators out there, and I love that so many are still active.

I’ve had two build modes lately: elaborate Victorians, and bungalows with 1970′s-era kitchen renovations. These are the Victorians of Willow Creek and Strangerville. I love the light blue house, but I may have to admit defeat with the brown and green color scheme on the other one. Two of the houses in Strangerville were build with a good witch and an evil witch in mind (though I haven’t finished the landscaping yet). The last one was a challenge to myself to build a Victorian house that didn’t have a tower or turret. I have a couple more that didn’t get photographed tonight, so I’ll work on those later.

Continuing with the building spree, I noticed that some of the house shells in Del Sol Valley were a near-perfect match for several Sears kit homes. I dug up some of the Sears kit home floorplans to build some bungalows (one of them later got moved to Oasis Springs). I like that this neighborhood looks like a place where people could actually live. I also love the garages off the alleyways - adorable and functional.

Last batch of build photos for tonight! This one is a farmhouse in need of an exterior makeover. I’ve found it really relaxing to build kitschy interiors lately, and I still love the alien-obsessed child’s room. I also love the little red barn on this farm lot (if only it hadn’t been raining when I took photos)!

I am taking a break from screaming inside my heart to go on a building spree. I’ve been trying to force myself to use some more colorful siding and trim combinations in my builds, using the Strangerville build set as inspiration. I’ve also been collecting photos of houses from movies & TV as inspiration (any suggestions?). This one is “the house from that Charmed reboot that I never watched.” It’s home to the Buntings, three generations of witches and their feline familiars.

I’m also working on a new S3 world, which isn’t even far enough along to share photos of but which I’m hoping to have done in time for Simblreen. Fingers crossed!
