There’s nothing quite like beginning to read the original Frankenstein by Mary Shelley expecting to kin Victor Frankenstein and coming out of it realizing you’re the “Monster” instead. Popular media also doesn’t really do the story justice at all. Victor was a college student who built me in his dorm, he didn’t have any kind of fancy laboratory. It’s amusing to see the differences in interpretation though.

I feel bad whenever a Marie messages me trying to find out if I'm their Stein, because I had an incredibly "problematic" canon where I didn't end up with Marie for various reasons, and I can't explain it to them beyond "I didn't end up romantically involved with you in any capacity." I don't like being so blunt about it, but if I explained any more, I'd be accused of awful things in this lifetime, and I absolutely hate it.
